Exhibition: Myths & Legends, Gosport Gallery, Gosport, until March 7

If stressed parents could have designed an exhibition to kick off 2009, they might have devised roughly the same design as the one the Gosport Gallery has drawn up.

Myths & Legends has stories from around the world, a Minotaur’s maze, an Egyptian tomb, totem pole building, Native American yarns and the tale of the God Osiris among stories from around the world.

There are also live readings and craft activities, and drop-in workshops to make maps and impersonate dragons as part of an accompanying half-term activity programme.

Tales, Tepees and Totem Poles, a story time special with stories and craft activities for children aged under five and their carers takes place in the Gallery on March 4 from 2pm-2.45pm.

Here be Dragons, a drop-in workshop of fantasy map making and dragon activities suitable for all ages will be held in the main Discovery Centre building on February 17. Admission is free but children must be accompanied by an adult. Call 0845 603 5631.
