Exhibition Preview: Forest of Rainbows: the Artistic Work of Steve Gubbins, Horsham Museum and Art Gallery, Horsham, December 7 2012 – January 30 2013

In a Sussex forest, an army of yew trees have been turned into a kaleidoscope of colour.

Under the eye of Steve Gubbins, a local photographer with a fondness for turning leaves and twigs into ceramics, the grain and bark of these ancient timbers takes on a completely different look.

Gubbins sees himself as a modern day alchemist, although his day pursuit is portrait photography.

A combination of artistic and technical finesse, lined with delicate white ceramics, this show is a rare chance to see the rainbow.
