Celebrating the legacy of the hugely influential 20th century furniture designer the museum is named after, the Gordon Russell and Rycotewood Prize is a competition to find the finest young crafters in the land.

“The combination of clear design thinking and exceptional craftsmanship would have appealed to Gordon Russell’s vision of the fusion of hand and machine,” says the museum’s Richard Paice, sizing up the victors in the fourth year of the award.
“These pieces on show are exemplars of quality design and knowledge of materials.”
