Leeds Castle, set on two islands on the River Len in the heart of Kent, has been home to royalty, lords and ladies for more than 900 years. Visitors are transported through the castle’s history; an eclectic mix of period architecture, sumptuous interiors and family treasures waiting to be discovered.

Swans glide on the moat and waterways, peacocks wander through the grounds and birds of prey soar on the wind during our falconry displays.

The gardens offer continuous colour throughout the year. From a mass of spring bulbs and wild flowers in the Wood Garden, through fragrant herbs and roses in the quintessentially English Culpeper Garden, to late flowering borders in the drought-resistant Mediterranean Lady Baillie Garden.

Leeds Castle is not just a museum but also a place where people meet and special events bring the grounds to life. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Tickets to Leeds Castle grant admission to the castle and grounds for one year from date of purchase with the exception of special ticketed events. For daily admission prices please see the website.
Educational Visit rates are a day rate: Workshop Visit £7.25 per pupil
Self-guided visit £5.75 per pupil
Self guided student age 17 - 18 £8.75 per pupil
Adult:Child Ratio 1:6 for Key Stage 1
1:10 for Key Stage 2
1:15 for Key stages 3 & 4
1:6 for all Art Workshops
Additional adult/teacher £8.00

The Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular

Hailed as one of the finest fireworks displays in the South East, the Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular will once again thrilling its audience with an amazing display.
The castle itself is closed to the public. Tickets must be pre-booked by calling the Box Office on 01622 880008 (Weekdays, 10am - 5pm) or book online.

Tudor Workshop - The Field of Cloth of Gold

A Key Stage 2 Tudor workshop focussing on Henry VIII's preparations for his trip to France and the Field of Cloth of Gold in 1520. Using the 2 pictures painted in the 16th century to record the event, this is an interactive and fun look at the celebrations that took place. Includes the use of costumes. Includes a guided tour in the Castle. Available Moday - Friday

Badges & Banners ~ An Art & Design & History Workshop

An Art & Design Workshop for children at Key Stage 2. Children will learn about why and how heraldry came into being, the symbolism of Heraldry. They will then design their own Coat of Arms and create a badge to take home. Includes a self guided trail in the grounds and castle. Available on Mondays & Fridays

Bespoke talks

A 30 - 40 minute afternoon talk can be arranged on a variety of subjects at Key Stages 1,2,3 & 4. Castles, Castle Life, Leisure & Tourism, Marketing and Falconry are a few of the subjects we can cover.

How to obtain

In the first instance call the Education Manager to discuss your requirements re the subject matter you require. You will then be advised on the booking procedure. Cost is £1 per child/student with a maximum of 40 per session.

Sybil the Cygnet

Aimed at Key Stage 1 and lower end Key Stage 2, Sybil the Cygnet offers a unique blend of Science and Literacy, combined to produce the story of Sybil, and what happens to her when she hatches from her egg while her mum is away from the nest. Children will dress up as the characters in the story. Includes a "meet the bird" session and guided tour of the Castle. Available on Monday - Friday.

The Artful Henry - An Art & history workshop
