Peckham Platform

We are changing

Peckham Platform is Changing.

Peckham Platform is closed while work takes place to redevelop Peckham Square.

While our new gallery is being built Peckham Platform will deliver an exciting series of projects across Peckham and South London throughout 2017 and 2018. Visit or follow @PeckhamPlatform on Twitter and be the first to hear about our programme of co-commissioned exhibitions, social arts research and learning activities.

Peckham Platform will take over the new gallery space in the redeveloped Peckham Square, set to open in 2019. Our new permanent home will have more space, better facilities and a greatly expanded programme of free cultural events.

Peckham Platform is a creative and educational charity based in a gallery on Peckham Square, SE15. As an organisation it believes that communities can inform and shape their engagement with their locality by working with contemporary visual artists. Its programme of commissions creates meaningful and accessible social arts practice for Peckham and beyond, providing an expansive platform for different voices and debate, bringing contemporary social practice alive.

Installation in shop window of Aylesham Shopping Centre

Youth Platform x Marc Bauer

  • 14 September — 12 November 2017 *on now

In a partnership with Frieze Projects London Youth Platform x Marc Bauer takes the form of large-scale displays across London from 14 September to 12 November. Developed through a series of workshops they explore the complex relationship between personal identity, gender politics and place.

The project transforms an empty shop front in the Aylesham shopping centre with a multimedia installation; video, moving image and a wall to ceiling collage showcasing the artworks created by members of the Youth Platform with Bauer.

Inspired by his time with the group Bauer has created an extensive wall-drawing to occupy the Frieze fair’s entrance corridor. The installation is part of Frieze Projects, the non-profit programme of new artist commissions at Frieze London.

The Aylesham Centre installation launches as part of Peckham Festival 2017 and will also be on show throughout the Frieze art fair.
