Wildflower Walks

You may have seen lots of butterflies last Summer but these beautifully winged creatures are disappearing from our land. 3 in 4 butterfly species are in decline.

Join the RSPB to learn to identify the different species of colourful butterflies at Westonbirt!

We will take you through the various settings, consider how and when best to use them, and look improving our opportunities for capturing better images and generally improving your skills and understanding.

Time will be spent out on location - for the more advanced photographer you will be encouraged to use your imagination and creative skills out on your own in the arboretum, for those requiring some input to their images, we will spend time together looking at ways to improve your creative abilities.

Wildflower Walks

Discover the wild flora of the woodland and downland of Westonbirt with our volunteer guide, looking at common and rarer plants of the season. This two hour walk starts at the Great Oak Hall and may be uneven or muddy. Reading glasses or lens would be useful. Sorry, no dogs.

Advanced Digital Photography

Most of the time will be spent on practical assignment, as weather permits, working around the Arboretum with as much individual attention from your tutor as possible. Group sizes will be restricted to 6 to ensure we can give each delegate as much attention as they need. This course will greatly enhance your confidence and understanding enabling you to capture great landscapes not just on the day, but in the future.
