Metropolitan Police Historical Collection

The Collection has a display of historical artefacts relating to the history of the Metropolitan Police. This includes old records, uniforms, truncheons, and equipment. There are photographs and films which depict the changes in policing through the last century. There are many artefacts from the War including gas masks and an air raid siren. There is also a collection of medals which have been donated to the museum. Details of most officers who have served since 1829 are available. The collection is open to the public Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and is free.
