The facilities of this beautiful and historic building have been upgraded and in the Main Hall we have a fully functioning venue with an inspiring multi-purpose space.

As well as providing a base for a busy and varied programme of Arts events, the Main Hall is also available for hire. It is ideal for anyone who would like to put on a concert or event and can accommodate conferences, presentations, workshops and large meetings. It is also a perfect setting for those special occasions or celebrations, such as retirement, leaving or birthday parties, ceilidhs and wedding receptions.

Heritage Open Days 2014: Old Town Hall

This small building has a fascinating history and has been opened especially for Heritage Open Days - come and see inside. There will be a display by the Local History Society on the subject of South Shields churches to coincide with the 1400 anniversary of St Hilda.

Heritage Open Days 2014: Open Day at Macclesfield Old Town Hall

  • 13 — 14 September 2014

Macclesfield Town Hall is a fine example of Georgian Architecture designed by Francis Goodwin in 1823. It has recently been refurbished with care taken to retain the charm and outstanding interior structures such as the staircase, ceilings and statues.

The public will be free to wander around the rooms including the Major's Parlour, the Council Chamber and the Old Butter Market. Stewards will be present to answer any questions regarding the building.
