Welcome to Eastbury Manor House, a beautiful Grade 1 listed Tudor mansion. It is owned by the National Trust and managed by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

Explore the atmospheric historic rooms and walled garden either at your leisure or on a tour led by one of our knowledgeable Tudor-costumed guides. Enjoy refreshments in the Garden Tea Room and browse in our Old Buttery Gift Shop.

The first Saturday of each month is our Family Day, offering a varied programme of children's activities and other events in addition to the guided tours.

We also hold regular evening events, such as Quiz Nights, Murder Mysteries, concerts and monthly Candlelit Tours.

Eastbury Manor House has its first Family Day 0f 2012 with themed family workshops about Elizabeth Fry. Elizabeth Fry Day. Learn who Elizabeth Fry was.

We also will have Barking Photographic Society practical demonstrations all day with a display of work. Pose for a portrait, practise your skills and have all your questions answered about the art of taking photos.

Family Day- with World War II theme

We remember .. the day - Every year, the House spends the first Saturday in May reliving that momentous day in May 1945 when hostilities ceased in Europe and peace returned once again to Britain.
'Make do and mend' in our childrens workshops
Sing along to poular wartime classics with the Brettons entertainers
'The British Legion' will be at Eastbury and be piped in by the Dagenham Girl Pipers at 2.00.
There will be a small display of memorabilia including RAF uniforms, Women at War a Bren gun and a outside exhibition. Find out more about the history of the aerodrome at Hornchurch.
Speak to the living history groups, The Riflles and browse some specially designed EMH aviation art.

Eastbury Manor House London Open Gardens Squares Day

9 June 2012

Eastbury Manor is a Grade I-listed Elizabethan manor with well-preserved walled gardens - a hidden gem. The Walled Garden retains its original internal brickwork and the bee boles used by the family for honey. An island of calm in a bustling location, the garden is attractively situated by the renewed façade of the house. The Herb Garden features herbs, and flowers that would have been used in the Tudor era for cooking and medicines. Explore this and our house as part of Open Gardens in London.
We will have plant sales, talks about Tudor Gardens at 11.30 and 1.30 and hanging basket demonstrations throughout the day as well a guided tours around the house.

Tudor Olympics

Indulge in some Tudor games. Meet Amy barn owl, Tink the hawk and have your picture taken for only £1.00 with birds of prey. There will be the opportunity to stroke these birds and find out more but there will not be a flying display. Get ready for some action and meet our Tudor archers in camp if you are brave enough. Have a go at archery all day, suitable for 5+ with demonstrations at 11.30 and 1.30. There will be craft activities ranging from coats of arms to making photo frames for your pictures
