Elsdale II - The West London Floating Classroom

At over 70 feet long and 15 feet wide the Elsdale is the largest electric wide-beam barge operating on the UK’s inland waterways, providing room for up to 60 pass angers or a full class of pupils.

The Elsdale is operated by Groundwork Thames Valley, an environmental charity. She is moored at Packet Boat Marina on the Grand Union Canal in Uxbridge, West London, which provides easy cruising into the beautiful Colne Valley Park.

From onboard the Elsdale our professional crew offer a range of activities for schools, community groups and private hire. All our trips provide a creative and hands-on experience to discover and explore the inland waterways from the safety and comfort of the Elsdale.
