Hull History Centre is the home of Hull's written heritage.
The city and University of Hull have united their archives and local studies resources in a pioneering partnership.
The project is Heritage Lottery Funded and provides an opportunity for the archives and local studies resources to become part of the culture of the city.
The Centre is open to everyone, free of charge.

The collections date back over 700 years and have both local and national significance. They include:
Local and family history resources.
Maritime records including whaling log books, fishing crew lists and the records of the Ellerman's Wilson line
An extensive collection of Second World War records
Personal papers of literary figures including those of the poet Phillip Larkin, and the author Winifred Holtby
Records relating to local and national political figures, campaigners and pressure groups.
