Siobhan Davies Dance is one of the country’s most outstanding and innovative dance companies and choreographer Siobhan Davies advocates for the wider recognition of dance as a significant and extraordinary art form. The Company’s RIBA award-winning building, Siobhan Davies Studios in Southwark, South London, provides a local, national and international resource for learning about movement and dance, and a meeting ground to discuss new ideas. It presents a varied programme of events, performances, talks, artists’ sharings and visual art exhibitions.

The exhibition will unfold throughout the year with emphasis placed not on individual artworks but the relationships and interconnected gestures between them. The exhibition is comprised of performance, film, photography, and spoken word works, as well as archival materials from collections such as the V&A and the Warburg Institute.

Notes on Gesture — III: Curated By Jeremy Millar

Unfolding throughout the year, emphasis is placed not on individual artworks but the relationships and interconnected gestures between them. The final instalment (part III) is marked by the sense of ending: melancholy, surrender, and death and includes works by artists such as Anna Barriball and Graham Gussin, as well as older works and archival imagery from the Warburg Institute.
This exhibition has emerged from the development of the new work by Siobhan Davies Dance to be presented in 2017.
Siobhan Davies Dance Moving Conversations: The Experience and Fantasy of Embodied Action

In a playful performance, Morrissey proposes an informal taxonomy of actions that explore different aspects of mind-body relations. Seth will respond to Morrissey by discussing what neuroscience has to say about embodied awareness, action and agency.
