Edge and Shore

  • 26 September 2014 3-8pm

Edge and Shore is a new durational performance and installation work by visual artist Helen Carnac and dance artist Laïla Diallo.

Emerging from a dialogue between the two artists about making and process, the work offers an insight into their ideas around place, practice, making and moving.

This work is a development of Side by Side (2012), a six week residency initiated by Siobhan Davies Dance where the two artists were invited to investigate the act and process of cross-disciplinary making.

Audiences are welcome to view the work anytime between: 3pm-5pm and 6pm-8pm.

These performances are commissioned by Siobhan Davies Dance and supported with public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

  • 20 September 2014 12-4pm

Dance artist Matthias Sperling performs live durational work To hand as a counterpoint to Body & Void: Echoes of Moore in Contemporary Art, The Henry Moore Foundation’s ground-breaking exhibition that makes connections between architect Moore’s investigation of internal space and its relationship with the human body.

To hand focuses on creating simple movements and draws attention to a complex collection of decisions in order for Sperling to navigate through the exhibition space.
