Completely refurbished in 2012 with the assistance of the Heritage Lottery Fund, Honeywood is a fine late Victorian and Edwardian house, incorporating part of an earlier 17th century building, overlooking the picturesque town ponds. The restored interior contains a wealth of period detail and displays on a range of topics linked to the history of the local area and the people who lived here. It has an active Friends group.

Displays tell the history of the people of the Borough of Sutton from the days of early settlement to the present, including Tudor life, the mills and country houses linked to the River Wandle, the Victorian and Edwardian eras and the Second World War. Period rooms include the Edwardian Billiards Room with its original fixtures and fittings.

150 Years of the Sutton - Epsom Downs Branch Railway

Alice's Mad Tea Party - Open Rehearsal

Savvy Theatre Company is producing a unique and interactive version of Alice in Wonderland in Honeywood's Victorian garden. Join the cast in the final stages of their rehearsal. Witness Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee tumbling about the garden, become part of the Queen's absurd croquet game and watch a flamingo mallet sword fight. Limited places available, so pre-booking is required.

Carshalton Frost Fair

  • 5 December 2015 1-6pm

Organised by the Friends of Honeywood Museum and EcoLocal, the Frost Fair promises to be a traditional winter event with activities for all the family. Along Honeywood Walk and iin the nearby Memorial Gardens the Farmers' Market stalls will offer a range of tasty treats and a variety of craft stalls will give you wonderful gift ideas. As it darkens, twinkling fairy lights will add atmosphere as you shop with the smell of roasting chestnuts and a hog roast in the air, accompanied by seasonal music with choirs and other performers.
In Honeywood itself find children's entertainments, including Santa's Grotto.
