Located at the southern end of the English Lake District, Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre provides a peaceful and inspiring environment in which people from all walks of life can learn about Buddhism and meditation. Open to everyone, the Centre provides a year-round programme of meditation classes, courses, and retreats that offer practical advice on how to apply Buddha's teachings to our daily activities.
The Centre is the site of the first Kadampa Buddhist Temple. This inspiring building, which is based on traditional Buddhist architecture, is open for everyone to visit. The centre is based at Conishead Priory, an historic house set in 70 acres of grounds on the shores of Morecambe Bay.
It is open to the public daily throughout the year, including a Gift shop and bookstore and woodland walks to the Bay. In season, at week-ends and Bank Holidays, guided tours of the house and Temple are offered, and the Conservatory Café serves light lunches and other refreshments. Group visits and educational visits are welcome by arrangement.
