Grand Cascade

One of the world’s most contemporary gardens, The Alnwick Garden’s enchanting landscape offers adventure and intrigue in the heart of Northumberland.

Scale the treetops in Europe’s largest wooden treehouse, lose yourself in the mysterious Bamboo Labyrinth, steal through the Poison Garden or gaze upon the Grand Cascade.

Transformed across seasons, no two days in the garden are ever the same, as it greets all visitors with a cacophony of colour and geometric designs, including a traditional ornamental garden and innovative water sculptures, as well as a varied programmes of music, arts, theatre and interaction.

A garden with a purpose, The Alnwick Garden is a registered charity (No.1095435) that places people at the forefront of all of its activities.

Glass in The Garden – A Unique Creative Partnership between The Alnwick Garden and The National Glass Centre Sunderland


Visitors to The Alnwick Garden and The National Glass Centre have made 1000 glass baubles as part of a unique project to create a beautiful glass installation within The Garden. These baubles are now being gathered together to create the installation for public view at The Alnwick Garden from October half-term.
This stunning creation was unveiled on October 23rd in a special ceremony and was attended by the people who blew a bauble. It is now on view for the enjoyment of all visitors Come along and see for yourself this magnificent and original glass monument.

Father Christmas in The Alnwick Garden

Christmas is coming and the kids want to get out

Come and meet Santa and the naughty elves too
A fun filled day out for them and for you.




Meet Father Christmas and his busy troupe of elves in his magical grotto, hidden within the Water Tower where each child receives a traditional gift.

lanterns

Willow Lantern Making

Make a beautiful enchanted willow lantern with Santa's elves. Keep your ticket and lanterns, and join our lantern parade on Sunday 21st December at 5pm.

Lanterns will cost £3.50 each, and will include all the materials and guidance needed. Tickets for the lantern making workshops can be purchased in advance or on the day in admissions.

Sessions will run four times over the selected days at: 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.00pm and 4.30pm.

Alnwick Garden School Tours

How to obtain

£3.50 per pupil, including admission
Teacher/carer – 1 free per 10 pupils
Additional adult - £6.25, including admission
*must be 18 or under and in full time education
The tour is suitable for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3, and for a group of 20 pupils. Larger groups will be divided into 2 groups. It is subject to availability and must be booked in advance. Please call 01665 511350 to make your booking.

Workshops and Tours for Schools

A school visit to The Alnwick Garden can include a workshop or tour led by The Garden’s own education team. At certain times of the year, like Science Month in March and Play Week in June, there are pre-programmed activities that schools can sign up for. Lots of our Roots and Shoots activities can be adapted and programmed especially for your group. Look at our What’s On pages, and if you see something you’d like to do, call us to arrange a session.
