Institute of Education

The Institute of Education is a graduate college of the University of London. It was founded in 1902 to deliver high quality training for teachers. We offer courses leading to higher degrees in all areas of education and related aspects of the social sciences and professional practice. Every year 1,000 graduates attend our Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) courses.

The Institute is a leading centre of educational enquiry. At any one time we host over 100 research projects funded by research councils, government departments and other agencies.

We host lectures by the leaders of the main UK political parties and by education ministers from around the world, and provide a forum for lively debates on educational issues.
