Since the 18th Century, Stowe has welcomed monarchs, poets, politicians and high society to delight in its Neo-classical splendour. The house is now part of a major public school, since 1923 and has been owned by Stowe House Preservation Trust since 2000. The house has been undergoing a major restoration programme with the aim to return Stowe to the 18th century masterpiece for which it was once famed.
