Bradford 1 Gallery is the new city centre space for exhibitions of contemporary and historic art and craft. It will host shows from national and regional touring venues as well as drawing upon the major collections of the museums and galleries service.

Bollywood and Bradford: In celebration of 100 years of Indian Cinema

The exhibition will draw on Bradford’s collection of Indian Cinema Posters as well as photography and film from the Bradford Archives. From the 1970’s to 1990’s the city was a centre for the screening of Bollywood classics with film goers attending from throughout northern England. Many of the classic films that would have been viewed by first and second generation south Asian communities, are represented in the poster collection.
