After the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII the land next to Gisborough Priory was acquired by the Chaloner family. Eventually in the early 18th century a mansion house and magnificent garden was created on the site.
This local volunteer-run charity aims to restore these gardens to provide a public green space and ensure the gardens' history is recorded for posterity.

Currently the garden site is undergoing restoration and is open to the public only on advertised open days. Please see website for details.

Closed to the public unless advertised in advance when access is by guided tour only.

 Admission charges

No charge - however currently access is only possible via the English Heritage site of Gisborough Priory for which there is a small charge.
Members of English Heritage and Gisborough Priory Project admitted free.

Additional info

Facilities on site are currently very limited but the garden site is centrally positioned in the town of Guisborough so access to cafes and toilets is easily available.
