The WORLD PREMIERE performance of The Angel of Mons by composer Patrick Hawes and his librettist brother Andrew Hawes.

The concert is taking place on the exact centenary of the apparition of an angel to over a hundred British soldiers of the first battle of the First World War. This occasion is especially poignant because many of these soldiers were from the Lincolnshire and Royal Anglian Regiments and all profits from the concert will be going to the Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Fund (registered charity no. 1085050).

In Memoriam - Lest We Forget

  • 8 November 2014 7:30-9:30pm

The Aliquando Choir of Henley-on-Thames present this special concert in aid of the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

The concert will feature the WORLD PREMIERE of composer Patrick Hawes's 'I Know the Music' specially commissioned by Aliquando. The new work is based on the Wilfred Owen poem 'I Know the Music' and we are especially fortunate to have Wilfred Owen's nephew as our special guest at the premiere. The new work is dedicated to the town and the surrounding community.

Patrick will be conducting the choir in a programme that also includes Cherubini's Requiem in C Minor and Elgar's 'Nimrod' arranged for choir.

There is also a choral workshop on the 18th October 2014 with Patrick Hawes based around the new work. Further details available at www.aliquando.co.uk
