For King and Country: Bowood and the First World War Exhibition

  • 1 April — 2 November 2014 *on now

A very personal, poignant and heartfelt exhibition at Wiltshire’s Bowood House in 2014 will mark the centenary of the beginning of the First World War as paintings, photographs, letters and other compelling documents recount its impact upon the estate, its employees and the Lansdowne family. With added resonance, Bowood’s ‘For King and Country: Bowood and the First World War’ exhibition will be mounted in the Robert Adam-designed Orangery of the Lansdowne family home that served as an auxiliary Red Cross hospital from 1915-1919.

Admission

Normal Bowood House and Gardens admission charges apply.
