An Audience with Ben Aaronovitch, supported by E17 Puppet Project

  • 10 April 2015 6:30-9pm

"The spirit of riot and rebellion has awakened in the city, and it's falling to me to bring order out of chaos - or die trying"

Join in the conversation with author Ben Aaronovitch as we discuss Rivers of London, the first novel in his series. Selected as this year's Cityread London title, this is a murder investigation with a difference, where realms of magic and mystery collide. This genre-bending tale merges historic and modern London, Punch and Judy and police procedural, fact and fantasy; all set to a backdrop of the capital's landmarks and rivers.

E17 Puppet Project present an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of PC Grant as he navigates this environment, and interact with the characters and settings of the novel, through participatory puppet art for adults.

6.30pm - Refreshments and Puppet Mayhem with E17 Puppet Project
7.30pm - Author talk and Q&A with Ben Aaronovitch

A Literary Cruise along the Thames

  • 22 April 2015 7-9pm

Take a cruise up the Thames, pausing to take in the literary sights and follow the trail of London's famous figures as you move upstream....without stepping foot off dry land!

Take a virtual cruise in words and pictures up the River Thames in the company of Nick Dobson. We'll be stopping off at places of interest along the way to take in the literary links and the historical significance of parts of a river which is as rich in culture as it is in commercial, natural and historical importance.
Follow the trail of Conrad, Wordsworth, Sherlock Holmes, Growltiger, Jerome K. Jerome and many others as we progress upstream.
