Trooper Potts VC Memorial Trust

The trust was established to raise funds to erect a memorial in a public place in central Reading, to the men and women of the Berkshire Yeomonary (past, present and future), the 426 who gave their lives in the wars of the 20th century and to Trooper Potts VC who won his VC at Gallipoli 21-23 August 1915.

As at November 14 the Trust has raised the £147,000 required to erect the memorial and Roll of Honour. The funds have been contributed by businesses from around Reading, Grant Bodies from Berkshire and individuals even in the USA ( the sons of David Niven).

Sculptor Tom Murphy completed the life size sculpture in Clay in March 2015. The foundry, Morris Singer Fine Art Foundry, has started the work leading to the casting of the memorial in Bronze.

The memorial will be unveiled and dedicated on 4 October 2015 from 10:30 am.
