Completed memorial of Trooper Potts VC

The trust was established to raise funds to erect a memorial in a public place in central Reading, to the men and women of the Berkshire Yeomonary (past, present and future), the 426 who gave their lives in the wars of the 20th century and to Trooper Potts VC who won his VC at Gallipoli 21-23 August 1915.

The Memorials were unveiled on 4 October 2015 by Chris Tarrant OBE and the Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire.

The life size sculpture is by Tom Murphy. It was cast in bronze by the Morris Singer Fine Art Foundry.

We continue to fund-raise cover annual maintenance costs.

Educational Outreach to local schools and colleges continues.

Reading's new War Memorial is now available to view

The memorial is in the form of a life size sculpture in Bronze depicting the VC deed at Gallipoli ( 21-23 August 1915) and a Bronze Roll of Honour listing the names of 426 Berkshire Yeomen who gave their lives in the wars of the 20th Century.

Sculptor, Tom Murphy, can be seen working on the wax version of the sculpture in the Morris Singer Foundry, the foundry manager then describes how the bronze sculpture is made and assembled. We then move to A F Jones Stonemasons where we see production of the carving in Portland Stone, including that of the VC badge... then back to the foundry to see the finished sculpture ready for delivery on 2 October 2015
