The arts organisation a space exists to assist emerging artistic talent develop sustainable careers within the arts.

The Bargate Monument Gallery, located in Southampton's iconic Bargate, is the home of 'a space' and has a 6 weekly rotating exhibitions programme promoting emerging local and regional talent. During the summer the organisation hosts artvaults, a season of contemporary art shown in mediaeval locations around Southampton.

The organisation has now become a significant alternative to many of the South's major organisations and funded gallery spaces. We are a young organisation with the ability to implement new and innovative projects.
