5th Base is an art gallery just off Brick Lane in London.

As well as curating our own exhibitions of art and design, we offer London art gallery hire at very competitive rates and offer attractive discounts for students

5th Base began in May 2012 with a single show in a hired space in South London, our purpose being to exhibit and sell works directly on behalf of unrepresented artists.

In September 2012 we took on a long-term lease on an old printers workshop in Heneage Street and converted it into a fully functional art gallery. This meant that we would always have a great space to hold our own exhibitions and could hire the gallery out to other artists and curators so that they could do the same, at a price that made it viable!

Since then we have curated and hosted over 50 exhibitions, and look forward to many more.

We are commited to providing artist and curators with excellent gallery facilities and exhibition support, as well as promoting and showing the works of independent artists through our own curated exhibitions.
