Stratford Circus Building Exterior

Run by registered charity, Stratford Arts Trust, Stratford Circus boasts flexible spaces including a 284-seat auditorium, 90-seat studio, a large airy studio space, and an open plan, accessible café/bar area. Driven by artistic excellence and the diverse communities of east London, our mission is to inspire and develop talent in collaboration with the best artists in the UK and internationally. We curate a visionary, artistic programme of dance, theatre, music, comedy, literature and circus, and together with our Circlets branded children’s theatre programme, we are a destination venue for local families & residents.

: Big Fish Little Fish is the family rave that has it all. An enchanted forest themed party with top DJs playing club music and so much more. An explosive brew of treachery, ambition and passion is unveiled in this contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s darkest play, set in modern India. After an ambush by three outrageous hijras, (drag queens in modern India and Pakistan) Macbeth is set on a bloody path of destruction when he betrays his cousin, Maharaj Duncan Singh. Live Indian music & movement accompanies this physically dynamic production.

This unique one-woman show is told in a rich and saucy Scots dialect with physical verve, a wee dram of whisky to oil the way and a musical score that rolls in like mist over the hills. The Red Chair lies somewhere between a Grimm’s Tale, an absurdist ghost story and a parent’s guide on how not to bring up children.
