The Savoy was an 1932 art deco hotel A2 listed building converted to an independent living scheme for elderly disabled tenants situated in the sea side town of Bangor, North Down. Mr Thomas Shaw, the last of the great war soldiers in the whole of Ireland, lived at the scheme with his wife. Tom died at the age of 102.
