Since reopening its doors in May 2011, the Lyric theatre has gone from strength to strength. The brand new £18.1 million building forms a cultural hub at the heart of Northern Ireland’s capital. The world class facilities enable the theatre to continue its role as the country’s only full time producing theatre, creating performance work of the highest standard to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
"Great theatre has the capacity to touch our lives in extraordinary ways and for over fifty years the Lyric has been an indispensable part of Northern Ireland's cultural heritage, empowering, inspiring, engaging and entertaining."

How Many Miles to Babylon?
- 27 April — 24 May 2014
Alec and Jerry shouldn't have been friends: Alec's life was one of privilege, while Jerry's was one of toil. But when war breaks out in 1914, both Jerry and Alec sign up - yet for quite different reasons. On the fields of Flanders they find themselves standing together, but once again divided: as officer and enlisted man.
And it is there, surrounded by mud and chaos and death, that one of them makes a fateful decision whose consequences will test their friendship and loyalty to breaking point.
