Local museum & history society for Crediton and surrounding villages in Mid-Devon.

Exhibitions are usually based on local themes and use the society's archive of documents and photographs. A major attraction is a remarkably accurate model of the High Street immediately before the Great Fire of 1743. Recent additions include objects found during archaeological excavations in the town.

Research facilities are available for visitors to explore their family and/or local history.

The archive collection includes 1,000s of documents, photographs and other artifacts from the Crediton area including family papers, property deeds, maps & correspondence relating to local charities & churches.

Research Centre: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays 10am to 1pm.
Exhibitions: Easter to October: 10am-4pm Wednesday to Friday and 10am-1pm on Saturday

Admission charges

No admission charge is made but donations towards running costs are most welcome!
