Friends of Ludlow Museum

The Friends help to raise money to purchase items for the collections, provide support for events and exhibitions and are also a body of keen volunteers.

There is also a autumn/winter programme of events which include lectures by invited speakers and occasional trips to places of interest.

Their aim is to help to stimulate public interest in the heritage of Ludlow, encourage and assist with the preservation of the museum’s collection, and promote and assist with schemes to utilise the collections for the public’s education and enjoyment.

Subscription £10/year/person. Entrance fee to the published programme talks for members £1.00, and for non-members £3.00. Prices will vary for specially arranged talks/visits.

Cleobury Mortimer and its History

  • 17 October 2016 7-9pm

A talk by Robert Hodge, who for the past six years has chaired the Cleobury Mortimer & District History Society and edited their journal, Cleobury Chronicles, as well as contributing a number of articles on local history. He is currently part way through a doctoral research program, working on a PhD thesis on the topic of poverty and its impact in the seventeen parishes of the Cleobury Mortimer Poor Law Union area in the 18C and 19C. It being History Week, this talk will be a joint venture between the Friends of Ludlow Museum and the Friends of the Library.
