Friends of Ludlow Museum

The Friends help to raise money to purchase items for the collections, provide support for events and exhibitions and are also a body of keen volunteers.

There is also a autumn/winter programme of events which include lectures by invited speakers and occasional trips to places of interest.

Their aim is to help to stimulate public interest in the heritage of Ludlow, encourage and assist with the preservation of the museum’s collection, and promote and assist with schemes to utilise the collections for the public’s education and enjoyment.

Subscription £10/year/person. Entrance fee to the published programme talks for members £1.00, and for non-members £3.00. Prices will vary for specially arranged talks/visits.

Rubble without a Cause

  • 15 February 2016 7:30-9pm

A lecture by Sir Neil Cossons who has lived in Shropshire for over forty years, as the first Director of the Ironbridge Museum, later of the National Maritime and Science museums and from 2000 to 2007 as Chairman of English Heritage. In this lecture he will explore the dilemmas of landscapes where the powerful texture of decomposition is the attraction.
