Gosport Gallery hosts a wide variety of exhibitions and events from shows by the finest local artists to exhibitions drawing on the rich museum collections held by Gosport and Hampshire councils.

It is fast becoming a regional venue for major touring exhibitions from national museums and collections. In addition, they run a programme of events ranging from theatrical productions to fun days, talks to art workshops.

The gallery is a bright and welcoming exhibition space located in the historic former assembly hall of Gosport Grammar School. Whilst it maintains several of the buildings original features, such as the floor and the balcony, it has been renovated to the highest standards to allow secure display of items of national importance.

You can find Gosport Gallery a short walk from the main Discovery Centre building, behind the Local Studies Centre. Admission is free, donations are welcome.

This eclectic selection of paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, includes works by Richard Eurich, Spencer Gore and C.R.W. Nevinson.

The region’s long and varied relationship with the sea is reflected through these charming and historic works and includes rarely seen works conserved especially for the exhibition.
