Paul Sinodhinos

  • 13 January — 21 February 2015 *on now

Born in Montreal, Canada but residing in the UK since 1962 Paul Sinodinos has lived in London, Berkshire, the West Highlands of Scotland and now Bridport.

Much of his work is derived from Nature: from the shells of the Loch and the ferns in the garden of his house close to Ardnamurchan, to the plants and trees of his home at Longburton, where he lived for thirty-five years before arriving close to Bridport four years ago, where more inspiration was waiting.

Theatre for the Soul: An Exhibition of Imaginative, Visionary and Surreal Art

  • 17 January — 21 February 2015 *on now

While all art is derived from the imagination, since even realistic paintings of landscapes are translated on to canvas by the artist’s imagination, for certain artists the finished artwork begins and ends with the imagination, with no apparent connection to reality. In truth these “imaginative” artworks have a deeper reality, a reality of the soul.

These artworks, whether paintings, sculptures or drawings are the stage on which the artist has placed the characters of his or her soul to play out and display their deepest nature. Such are the works in this exhibition.

Curator David Brooke will be showing some of his paintings alongside Tim Carroll, Amanda Popham, David Lawrence, Katarina Rose, Nancy Farmer, David Marl and Kate Walters.
