Birmingham Bach Choir has contributed to the cultural life of Birmingham and the West Midlands for over 90 years. We are a large chamber choir, rehearsing under the direction of distinguished conductor and composer, Paul Spicer. We sing music from all centuries specialising in Baroque and 20th Century music. We give three major concerts each year with many other lively musical activities.
We are engaged in delivering a major commission,'Unfinished Remembering' a new choral symphony by Paul Spicer and poet, Euan Tait. This will performed next year to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Commemorative Concert: World War 1 and D-day

To commemorate the centenary of World War One and the 70th anniversary of D-Day 6th June 1944 , a special concert is being organized by Midlands vocalist Gary Lewis.
The concert will be held at The Birmingham Old Rep Theatre on Saturday the 5th July 2014 at 8.pm. , with the superb Don Mather Big Band providing the musical backing .
Joining Gary on stage will be three of his work colleges and fellow vocalists Fay Holt , Colin Jordan, and Mark Carter .
Music of the times will feature including Glenn Miller as will some of the Great War Movie themes like 'The Dambusters' , The Longest Day ' and '633 Squadron' .
The wonderfully moving Birmingham Military Community Choir will also be performing. The Choir has been founded by the Royal British Legion, working in partnership with Birmingham Bach Choir and supported by grants from the Mayor's fund and the Armed Forces Community Covenant Fund .
Gary say's " This concert is to say thank you to all those brave service personnel and to remember the many who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedom we do today" .
The Royal British Legion and the Royal Air Force Association will be in attendance as will hopefully be a number of surviving veterans .
The Old Rep Theatre itself was 100 years old in 2013 . and 2015 would have been Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday .
Gary added , "With all these anniversaries taking place , I just couldn't let it pass without marking them in some way .

Unfinished Remembering is a new choral symphony by Paul Spicer with words by Euan Tait. It is dedicated to heroes in every generation. It will be premiered in the Symphony Hall Birmimngham in September 2014. Also in the progarmme will be 'Dona Nobis Pacem' by Vaughan Williams and 'A Shared Singing', a new national song by Tait and Spicer to be performed by a military choir.
We are delighted to be working with the Orchestra of the Swan and charismatic young soloists in this exciting event. We hope to fill the Symphony Hall with an audience form far and wide and from all walks of life who wish to mark this historic occasion in a unique and memorable way.
