Come and join us for an evening celebrating the work of all our Tight Modern artists at The Towner Art Gallery, Friday 26th September 6:30-8pm.
Tight Modern showcases outstanding work by 60 marginalised and disabled artists, and is a miniature replica (9ft x 5ft with a 12ft high chimney) of London’s iconic Tate Modern. Tight Modern, which has toured exhibitions to great acclaim in recent years, is probably the world’s smallest temporary art gallery. The Tight Modern exhibitions are hugely popular, with entries from throughout the UK and abroad. This year the Tight Modern has already attracted over 2,500 visitors in just one weekend, when the project visited Brighton Fringe.
Poet Janette Bryan, a Creative Future mentee, will also be launching ‘Expression in Black and White’ at the Tight Modern preview. Come and hear this powerful poetry from the latest in the Creative Future pamphlet series.
Works range from drawings, photographs, prints and tapestry to collage and relief sculpture. From hundreds of entries, the exhibits chosen show remarkable creativity, observation and exceptional talent. All works are on sale for £50 with many exhibitors going on to successfully sell their work.
