Edward German Music Festival

A week long community led classical music festival featuring life and works of local born composer Sir Edward German and encompassing works by his contemporary composers who did not return from war.

The festival will include master classes, chlidrens music workshops, guided walks and trails of local WW1 heritage sites.

Music and the Great War

Come and join Dr Philip Lancaster as he takes us on a journey to the Great War to find out how important the music of the time was to those who fought and those who kept the home fires burning.

Come and join us for a week long series of concerts, talks, music workshops, community concerts and WW1 heritage themed activities. Our Festival celebrates the life and works of this Whitchurch born composer described as a 'stylistic cosmopolitan who wrote music that is quintessentially English'. Key note concerts by first class renowned musicians are interspersed with community led events and activities, children's music master classes and workshops and a celebration of rural market town heritage.
