Our main commemoration on Sunday 3rd August 2014 starts with a service of remembrance at the Town Cenotaph at 11am, including a reading of the names of those on the Roll of Honour for World War I. This will be followed by a parade of county banners from the Royal British Legion (stretching from the River Tweed to York), Military Bands and other groups to Willey Flatts Field, where there will be a drumhead service and further reading of the names.
There will be a replica trench, battle re-enactment using local cadet forces, a Victorian Fairground and a Marquee holding an exhibition of World War I memorabilia and displays from those organisations helping with the event
