For its inaugural exhibition, PERICLO presents Girls, a two-person display featuring the work of Rebecca Gould and Lindsey Mendick.
Though they have previously exhibited together, Girls sees Gould and Mendick working alongside each other for the first time, embracing a semi-collaborative process through long distance conversation. Their work retains an individual persona whilst adopting and being influenced by certain elements and nuances from the other's practice.
Rebecca Gould lives and works in Wales. "Gould makes work that can be described as ‘urgent’, in the best sense of the word. Her practice focuses on the immediacy of the act and the transformative power of the artistic gesture." - Alfredo Cramerotti, Director, MOSTYN.
Lindsey Mendick lives and works in Sheffield. Mendick references the megababes of 1980's and 1990's pop culture, intertwined with the Pre-Raphaelite beauties.
