The manor house on the Brockhampton Estate, Herefordshire.

Romantic medieval moated manor house on Herefordshire / Worcestershire borders.

14th-century great hall with an immense, locally-timbered roof. Lovely crooked gatehouse and ruined Norman chapel. Miles of park and woodland to explore, with a rich variety of wildlife, from dormice to buzzards. See the wooden sculptures on woodland walks.

Brockhampton Bowmen Archery Sessions

Join the Brockhampton Bowmen and put your archery skills to the test. Discover various bows and find out how they were used.

Wear suitable outdoor clothing. Other equipment will be provided.

Evening Health Walks

The 'Walking for Health' scheme is intended for those who are unfit or have been recommended to take more exercise to improve their health. Routes will vary around the Brockhampton estate and will take approximately one hour at a pace to suit all levels of fitness.

Butterflies and Bugs Hunt

Hunt for butterflies and moths and bugs in the wildflower meadow on the nature trail. Identify species using your own spotter sheet and make your own butterfly clip to take home. £3.00 per child.

Meet the Bats

In the evening Brockhampton is a haven for bats. Armed with a bat detector, discover more about how to spot them and the secret world they inhabit on an evening guided walk at Lower Brockhampton.

Fungal Foray

Lumpy bracket or wrinkled crust, these are some of the weird and wonderful fungi that can be found on a guided tour around Brockhampton Estate from 14:00 to 16:00.

Saturday Lecture: Fascinating Fungi, Shelia Spence

This lecture will explore what people picked in the past and now, including wild foods such as fungi. Q and A included. For an additional charge, you can also choose to join Sheila on a fantastic fungal foray after the lecture lunch and get up-close with various weird and wonderful fungi (see separate listing for details).
