Mark Gordon

All Summer in a Day by Mark Gordon

  • 24 January — 21 February 2015 *on now

Tarpey Gallery is thrilled to host an exhibition of new work by Derbyshire painter Mark Gordon from January 24th – February 21st, 2015

For his inaugural solo show at Tarpey Gallery Mark is creating a new body of work with an emphasis on light and colour, inspired by his travels around the United Kingdom the exhibition will feature vistas from the south coast to the North of England via his native Derbyshire.

Mark Gordon’s work is deeply evocative of time and place. With a deft use of light and colour he possesses an ability to draw out the memories and past lives of those who once inhabited the spaces within his paintings.

“in theory it’s so simple, it’s about the ephemeral light and colour… distorted, collaged and re imagined.. Distilled into a new more intense experience of these fleeting moments”
Mark Gordon, 2014

The work invites reflection and calls on the viewers imagination in a compelling and insistent fashion. Mark Gordon is an artist of real depth and talent who invites us to see the world through his eyes and gives great reward for having done so.
