Rosenfeld Porcini

rosenfeld porcini gallery

Located in the heart of the dynamic gallery district of London’s Fitzrovia, Rosenfeld Porcini opened with the express intention of presenting a strong international programme. Our exhibition ‘Memory’ featuring 9 sculptors from 6 nations recently travelled to PAN Museum, Naples and in 2011 we staged a solo exhibition of American artist Leonardo Drew at our partner gallery Galleria Napolinobillisima. Our recent themed exhibition ‘The Continuation of Romance’ was devoted to contemporary painting and underlied a contextual basis to explore our firm curatorial belief in the continuity that underlies the story of art.

Herbert Golser

Herbert Golser: A Quivering Solidity

  • 29 May — 11 July 2015 *on now

A Quivering Solidity (29 May – 11 July) follows Herbert Golser's participation in the gallery’s fourth themed group exhibition WOOD, which gathered four artists who all sculpt with wood, yet use the medium in diverse ways, both technically and from a narrative point of view. The gallery will feature Golser’s most recent sculptures.

Reducing his chosen material to a maximum level of fragility and malleability, Herbert Golser transposes the wood into extraordinary organic artworks. His sculptures never lose sight of their raw material; he takes the wood back to a seemingly impossibly subtle form. At times the wood appears like wafer thin pages of an ancient manuscript, in others it forms sculptural shapes that approach the essence of a Brancusi. All of Golser’s sculptures contain an extreme delicacy, the wood appearing to tremble in the air, such is its extraordinary lightness.

spazio visivo

Spazio Visivo

  • 24 July — 26 September 2015

Lyrical yet disconcerting, their unique world is composed from photographs, mirrors, paint, faded wallpaper, wood and strange surrealistic visions of ominous corridors, reminiscent of Paolo Cavinato’s previous life as a stage designer. Whether intentionally narrative or not, this visual complexity results in a deeply immersive experience with the sound composition often emanating from a variety of hidden sources. The innate mystery dominating their installations interrogate ideas of time and space. Spazio Visivo, for their first solo show at rosenfeld porcini, have elaborated a retrospective of their artistic journey together; covering works made from 2007 to their latest creation made expressly for the exhibition, which has been inspired by Paolo Cavinato's time spent in Shanghai at the prestigious Swatch artistic residency. Themes of geometry and spatial relationships will be explored by the collaborative duo. Stefano Trevisi will also have a concert in the gallery during the final week of the exhibition in late September.
