Located in the heart of the dynamic gallery district of London’s Fitzrovia, Rosenfeld Porcini opened with the express intention of presenting a strong international programme. Our exhibition ‘Memory’ featuring 9 sculptors from 6 nations recently travelled to PAN Museum, Naples and in 2011 we staged a solo exhibition of American artist Leonardo Drew at our partner gallery Galleria Napolinobillisima. Our recent themed exhibition ‘The Continuation of Romance’ was devoted to contemporary painting and underlied a contextual basis to explore our firm curatorial belief in the continuity that underlies the story of art.

Francisco de Corcuera: Solo Exhibition

8 May — 27 June 2013 *on now

rosenfeld porcini presents The Impossible Existence of a Mathematician, the inaugural UK solo exhibition by the Chilean artist Francisco de Corcuera.

Whilst a purely abstract and conceptual artist, Corcuera possesses a completely original language with an undoubted ‘philosophy of existence’ underpinning his paintings. Strong geometrical maps govern his large compositions.

The apparent rigidity and 'trompe l'oeil' quality in the details are ignited by the freedom with which he fills his canvases with painterly backgrounds and fluid gestures. Solely using pencil alongside oil and acrylic paints to obtain his end, Corcuera combines a great lyricism with highly structural, almost architectural, grids to govern and explain an intangible space.
