The Birmingham Botanical Gardens & Glasshouses are a 15 acre oasis of delight. Designed by J. C. Loudon, a leading garden planner, horticultural journalist and publisher, they opened to subscribers in 1832.

Today, you will find beauty, peace and tranquility combined with excellent visitor facilities for all the family. We look forward to welcoming you into our gardens and glasshouses where you can enjoy nature at its best and discover the importance of plants to people.

The Gardens are open every day except Christmas Day from 9 am (10 am Sundays).

Closing: April to September: 7pm
October to March: 5pm (or dusk)Last admission 30 minutes before close.

CPD for Teachers

A range of courses for teachers and other interested educational professionals. We aim to promote the development of wildlife/environmental areas through new, exciting and invigorating practical experience and advice, together with the relevant knowledge and skills to make projects sustainable. Our courses will build the confidence level of staff to teach outside the classroom across the curriculum.
