Castlefield Gallery is an artist-initiated gallery that plays a strategic role in the development of contemporary art. It does so by supporting the professional careers of artists and curators through research, production, presentation and interpretation. Castlefield Gallery currently has 3 main strands of work a) an exhibition and events programme, b) Project Space, a mentoring and professional development scheme and c) PureScreen, a platform for promoting artist’s film and video. In all its activities it aims to engage new audiences by working with partners - regionally, nationally and internationally.

Feral Trade Café

Castlefield Gallery is pleased to present Kate Rich and her project Feral Trade Café to Manchester. Feral Trade is a grocery import-export business, trading food and drink sourced through a range of social networks. For 6 weeks, the Feral Trade Café at Castlefield Gallery will serve up an array of ‘ferally’ traded drinks and snacks along with delivery documentation collected by the artist.
