Jump Ship Rat
The Liverpool Arts Interface has been established to foster and promote the advancement of education of the public in contemporary visual and performing art.
As curators we seek to develop and encourage experimentation, diversity and dialogue in contemporary arts practice, provide exhibition space for new art and artists, and foster an appreciation for the vital role that artists play in the shaping of both our visual language and our communities.
The L.A.I. aims to explore, document and examine the creation and exhibition of new work thus propelling the development of contemporary art practice, discourse and learning. This is the beginning a process with the eventual goal of re-inventing the way in which art is encountered and experienced.
The previous ventures of Jump Ship Rat have gone a long way to help anchor this progressive philosophy within the creative community in Liverpool, and has advanced the development of cultural and social exchange programs.
JSR encourage the notion of art as a total environment that can inform thought, speech and action. We present art as an experience that can liberate and educate an individual's or a society's thought patterns.
