The Weston Auditorium is one the leading arts venues in Hertfordshire, Playing host to an exciting range of inspiring, stimulating and thought provoking events, including national touring theatre productions, classical concerts, contemporary dance, and cult and classic movies on the big screen.

The venue hosts a diverse programme of events throughout the year, including film, music, theatre and dance.

Robin Hood and His very Merry Men

Uncontained Arts return with another exhilarating interpretation of much loved children’s stories.

Join the legendary outlaw Robin Hood and his band of very merry men as they rob from the rich to save the poor in this laugh a minute adventure. With Maid Marian by his side, this tights wearing bandit cannot be stopped as he defeats the nasty Sheriff of Nottingham time and time again!

Featuring live music, and puppetry. With Little John, Friar Tuck, buckets of mud, and a host of colourful forest characters telling their tales along the way, this is a family show with lots of joining in not to be missed!

Visions Festival

4 June 2013

The fourth annual Visions Festival will focus on two main sections across the day - Industry Visions and Student Visions.

The morning section (10.00am to 1.00pm), Industry Visions, will feature guest talks by some of the best people from the Film and Television industry. Previous guests have included BAFTA-award winner Charles Furneaux, former Head of Production of TalkbackTHAMES Allan Tott, "The X-Files" series writer and producer Frank Spotnitz and Brian Cook - First Assistant Director on "Barry Lyndon", "Flash Gordon" and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

The afternoon session (2.00pm-5.00pm), Student Visions, is a showcase of the best of the final year student work on the BA Film and Television Programme. Following the screenings, there will be a prize-giving ceremony with sponsors including Elstree Studios.

Rimsky-Korsakov’s Easter Festival Overture, is dedicated to his compatriots and musical peers, Mussorgsky and Borodin. A delightful work with the occasional excerpt from Russian Orthodox liturgical chants. Former Young Musician of the Year Piano Class winner Erdem Misirlioglu will join the orchestra to play Grieg’s Piano Concerto – filled with lyrical and heroic themes.

Stravinsky’s Petrushka ends the season with a bang! This ballet is the Russian fairytale of a puppet who comes alive and develops emotions. A dazzlingly complicated and imaginatively scored work, that will engage the listener with its constantly changing melodies and rhythms.

Heart of Flame Concert

Hertfordshire's high quality music making, across all ages, is nationally renowned. The first Heart of Flame community concert in July 2012 gathered some of the county’s best music groups and performers to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Torch Relay coming to Hertfordshire.

This year, as part of the Heart of Flame Festival, Hertfordshire Music Service and UHArts are proud to host another evening of new and familiar music, performed by local residents, including the Philomusica youth orchestra, community choirs, dance items and a finale featuring all the evening’s performers and audience.

It promises to be another family-friendly and memorable evening!
