Barbican Arts Group Trust

Barbican Arts Group was formed by artists in 1972 to create studio and exhibiting space in the Barbican area of London. It received charitable status in 1984 in recognition of its community work undertaken through exhibitions, public art, open studios and schools projects, which continue to this day. BAGT moved east in 1989, with assistance from Greater London Arts and established Hertford Road Studios in Hackney.

We have since acquired an additional building in Blackhorse Lane E17, and the recently refurbished Hertford Road site provides a total of three project spaces that we use for our programme of creative events.
