Tudor falconry

  • 9 — 10 May 2015 10:30am-4pm

See magnificent birds of prey soaring above the River Avon and chat to the Albion Falconry team. They specialise in the history of falconry. At Lacock the spotlight shines on the Tudor era and the falconers will dress in authentic period costumes.

Watch the birds in action at spectacular flying displays twice a day at 11.30am and 3pm. Trained hawks will swoop almost within touching distance and powerful falcons will dive from high above to snatch a lure. At 1pm you are invited to meet the falconersand get hands-on with the equipment used, for example trying on a glove, swinging the lure and learning the footwork involved. It's a chance to ask questions and have a photo taken with the falconer.
