The 12th Althorp Literature Festival
- 11 — 13 June 2015
Althorp House and the Palladian proportions of its honey coloured, ironstone stables provide the most magnificent setting for The Althorp Literary Festival.
Literature is synonymous with Althorp – part of its history. George John, the Second Earl Spencer, amassed one of the greatest private libraries of its time, amounting to over 43,000 volumes of priceless first editions, sprawling through the house’s grandest rooms.
The Althorp Literary Festival is a unique celebration of Literature. In its first eleven years, the Festival has been privileged to host nearly 200 novelists, historians, comedians, actors, politicians, sportsmen and television personalities, including Bill Bryson, Alastair Campbell, Jung Chang, Julian Clary, Sebastian Faulks, Julian Fellowes, Helen Fielding, Boris Johnson, Michael Palin, David Starkey, and Twiggy. This year’s line-up will build on this success.
We would like to invite you and your special clients and friends to enjoy a wonderful summer’s day at the Althorp Literary Festival – or, of course, join us for all four – and be inspired by stellar authors in the setting of one of England’s most beautiful, private, stately homes.
There are up to twelve talks each day, with something to suit all interests, as well as a number of fringe events to enjoy over the course of the Festival. Join us for lunch or afternoon tea in the Althorp Stables Cafe against a background of poetry readings, and musical performances.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 12th Althorp Literary Festival, on Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June 2015.
