Hive Shrewsbury

The Hive is an independent community arts organisation, with a growing reputation as a vibrant venue for arts and culture in Shropshire. The Centre boasts a diverse portfolio of events - as varied as live music, theatre, film, dance, crafts, languages and more.

Centre facilities include a gallery space, main auditorium, video and sound studios, coffee shop, meeting room and courtyard garden.
In addition to the centre-based activity, the Hive delivers outreach work with young people across Shropshire.

The main aim of the organisation is to provide opportunities for young people to have fun, develop new skills and explore potential.

 Opening hours

As a standard rule, the Hive is open Tuesday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:30pm. During term-time, the Centre is also open as standard on Saturday mornings, between 9:30am and 12:30pm.

However in addition, the Centre is open a large number of evenings and weekends - whenever there is an event taking place in the building.

 Admission charges

Vistors are encouraged to come to the venue in person to discover everything that we have to offer - and to browse the art exhibitions etc. For the majority of events, there is an entry charge, which varies according to each individual event.

The Hive is fully accessible, located all on one level with portable ramp available. Disabled toilet facilities - and guide dogs welcome.
