DJ Aja Ireland at Backlit’s Project Space

  • 14 May 2016 8:30-9:30pm

Backlit’s participation in this year’s Art Map Weekender and Museums at Night Event will include a performance by electro-musician and DJ Aja Ireland at Backlit’s Project Space. The free live set of Aja’s new material takes place on May 14 (starts 8.30pm) and will include visuals and projections. There’ll also be a bar. Aja has been based in Berlin for a while and has just moved back to Nottingham. Why Backlit? Aja has long connections with Backlit. She has collaborated with several studio artists here and shot her first video here. Aja’s new material can be heard on Soundcloud and her music was recently used by Reebok for a TV advert in Korea. Btw the Art Map Weekender is a promotion of Nottingham’s art galleries and visual arts scene by the Nottingham Art Map, which is produced by Nottingham Trent University. Art Map visitors will be encouraged to get around town by paying reduced prices on the tram. Backlits current exhibition 'Simon Starling', part of the Grand Tour will be open for viewing.
